Your job is now your Time Lord name. The last digit of your phone number is the current regeneration you are in. The nearest clothing item to your right is now the most notable item in your current wardrobe. The last person you texted is your current companion. Your favourite word is now your catchphrase.

"Gevalt!" the Librarian (in training) exclaimed, when she realised she had died and been regenerated for the 3rd time.

She grabbed her purple fleece jacket, utterly bewildered at the fact that she was in the Mountain Flat with [Sexy!Roommate] as a Companion.

For me, that is.

I doubt there are spoilers, it's mainly me whining )

I'm going to start a rewatch of Torchwood this weekend, starting from Jack's first appearance on Doctor Who ("The Empty Child"), because in October I'm giving a lecture about Jack's immortality and his renewing body at the local Sci-Fi and Fantasy con. I'll be liveblogging my insights and ideas.

I hope you enjoy the nostalgia trip as much as I do.

P.S. I'm planning on showing short segments of important events on the show, but I have no idea how one creates clips. Any tutorials out there that you peeps recommend? Thanks in advance!

Spoilers up to S1E7 You Live or You Die )

This was in lieu of the new "Doctor Who" episode I have yet to see! Tommorow, you'll get my reaction to that. I've already been slightly spoiled, but I'm not sure as to what.

Warning: This post will contain mass amounts of spoilers for the first two episodes of the 6th series of Doctor who "The Impossible Astronaut" and "The Day of the Moon". It will also contain mass amounts of squeeage, incoherence and ambivalence.

Next time, Mermaids!

Before I post actual content, I want to once again mention the gutting loss of Elisabeth Sladen, who died yesterday after what appears to have been a long combat with cancer.

Coming late to Who Fandom, watching Elisabeth Sladen being Sarah Jane Smith, as I said yesterday, made me feel as though I were a part of something bigger. A bigger world, a greater myth.

Beyond that, that we are all bigger on the inside for our love and our loss.

I never got to watch "The Sarah Jane Adventures", but this clip encapsulates all that I feel about losing such a supreme actress and personality like Ms. Sladen.

It's not a personal loss, but she was there for ME, because Sarah Jane, she was left behind by her Doctor and continued to know and love the world that she discovered with him.

She became much like the Doctor herself, introducing a younger generation to the wonders of stories about the world and showing us all, that we are bigger on the inside.

Good bye Ms. Sladen.

Good bye Sarah Jane.

I'm so sad right now.

Elisabeth Sladen passed away.

I don't even know what to say.

She made me feel part of a bigger world. She was part of a greater world.

Good bye/

Here Be Spoilers for Doctor Who 5.13 "The Big Bang".

You were warned )

I can't wait for Christmas.

Now excuse as I search for TARDIS and River Song icons.

As though there was any doubt! Donna, you're awesome!
Also, kind of uncanny hoe accurate this is:
"you're a rather boggling combination of a romantic idealist and a staunch realist"
Variations of that have been said about me for years.

Take Which Doctor Who companion are you? (girls) today!
Created with Rum and Monkey's Personality Test Generator.
You're Donna Noble!

Oi! Wotch it, Martian boy! The Doctor thinks he can spout all kinds of ridiculous technobabble and 'Last Time Lord Angst' at you just because he's from outer space, huh? Well, you're not having any of it! You've got a heart of gold and a will of iron, and you're a rather boggling combination of a romantic idealist and a staunch realist. But you never let logical paradoxes get to you; you prefer to shoehorn the universe into a little box of your own perception. More often than not, it fits... probably because the universe is too intimidated to argue!

This post contains spoilers to the Doctor Who episodes: "The Hungry Earth" & "Cold Blood" and "Vincent and the Doctor".

Mainly for Vincent and the Doctor, though )

I bought a pocket watch over at eBay.

Well, my brother paid for it, but I'm going to pay him back, so I bought it.

It cost less than ten bucks.

It's a stainless steel mirror cover 12/24 hour pocket watch, you can see it here, with a couple of pic here )

You know why I wanted it?

Because then I can turn it into this )

Yes.

I know.

For anyone not getting the point, that is a Time Lord's Chameleon Arch and now I shall have one of my own!
I realise this is the first step towards cosplaying...

Contains spoilers to "Blink" of season 3 and "The Time of Angels" of season 5 Doctor Who:

I just listened to Blue Gillespie's début album Synesthesia and I very much like it. Their music reminds me of my teenhood, I know not that long ago, but still.
I want the actual album, but I can't pre-order because I do not live in the UK... *sigh*.
I'll wait, but not patiently damn it!

I remember getting the two Cave Country EP's last year, right after Children of Earth aired.

Have I ever mentioned how I only got my two pairs of Converse trainers (white and red) because of the Doctor... and I wear them with my pinstripe trousers (which I owned before hand). I'd never worn them before, I never bothered getting them when I was in high school... I can't remember what shoes I wore in high school, how odd.

What does it say about me that these are my shopping criteria?

Oh about the music, I like the fact that Gareth David-Lloyd roars. It's sexy. The music itself, lyrically speaking, is pretty dark and the melody sort of belies that at times by pure aggression.
Music the bang heads to.
eumelia: (coffee)
And why I still can't re-watch Torchwood: Children of Earth.

Cut for Length and what might be construed as spoilers )

How's that for silly, self-indulgent meta?
eumelia: (the doctor)
Oh yeah.

Oh, YEAH!

Cut for spoilers and squeeage )

Did I mention I cried when we were let into the TARDIS again?

I hate the new logo.
eumelia: (the doctor)
Oh good god!

I'm seeing reaction posts on my reading lists! People are considerate and keeping them either spoiler free or "cut" for spoilers.

But good god!

*whimpers*

Mel, relax, chill. Tomorrow. Tomorrow you shall see Elevensssssssssssssss!!!!!!!

YAY!!!!

I'm excited! You know, so many people aren't. Mainly because of "Geronimo". I mean, for reals? Chillax dudes, Doctor Who is about change and trying new things!

I'm looking forward to new things.

Though the Daleks in the trailers are not giving me hope for new things, in fact my reaction to that was "What?! Daleks again!?".

Still, one anther night's sleep and it's Whoville for MOI!

V and Justice

V: Ah, I was forgetting that we are not properly introduced. I do not have a name. You can call me V. Madam Justice...this is V. V... this is Madam Justice. hello, Madam Justice.

Justice: Good evening, V.

V: There. Now we know each other. Actually, I've been a fan of yours for quite some time. Oh, I know what you're thinking...

Justice: The poor boy has a crush on me...an adolescent fatuation.

V: I beg your pardon, Madam. It isn't like that at all. I've long admired you...albeit only from a distance. I used to stare at you from the streets below when I was a child. I'd say to my father, "Who is that lady?" And he'd say "That's Madam Justice." And I'd say "Isn't she pretty."

V: Please don't think it was merely physical. I know you're not that sort of girl. No, I loved you as a person. As an ideal.

Justice: What? V! For shame! You have betrayed me for some harlot, some vain and pouting hussy with painted lips and a knowing smile!

V: I, Madam? I beg to differ! It was your infidelity that drove me to her arms!

V: Ah-ha! That surprised you, didn't it? You thought I didn't know about your little fling. But I do. I know everything! Frankly, I wasn't surprised when I found out. You always did have an eye for a man in uniform.

Justice: Uniform? Why I'm sure I don't know what you're talking about. It was always you, V. You were the only one...

V: Liar! Slut! Whore! Deny that you let him have his way with you, him with his armbands and jackboots!

V: Well? Cat got your tongue? I though as much.

V: Very well. So you stand revealed at last. you are no longer my justice. You are his justice now. You have bedded another.

Justice: Sob! Choke! Wh-who is she, V? What is her name?

V: Her name is Anarchy. And she has taught me more as a mistress than you ever did! She has taught me that justice is meaningless without freedom. She is honest. She makes no promises and breaks none. Unlike you, Jezebel. I used to wonder why you could never look me in the eye. Now I know. So good bye, dear lady. I would be saddened by our parting even now, save that you are no longer the woman I once loved.

*KABOOM!*
