Here Be Spoilers for Doctor Who 5.13 "The Big Bang".

Happy Ending!

I'm so happy there was a happy ending, where everybody lived! This was not at all what I expected. I only have New-Who to go on and I'm used to RTD's Tragedies.

And here, happy end! With a wedding no less.

The whole sequence of events was brilliant, the fixing of the cracks throughout time and Amy being special not because of the Doctor, but simply because she is.

Despite Amy's tyranny, I love the egalitarian nature of hers and Rory's relationship. They both waited.

The girl who waited.
The boy who waited.

Both centurions of time.

But you know who my favourite character is? Nope, not the Doctor though <3 and no, not River, I'll get to her in a mo' (yum...).

The TARDIS.

When The Doctor sat in little Amelia's room, as she slept, and he told her that they were all just stories (cue the tears... this has been a motto in my life) and about her being ancient and brand new and how he stole borrowed her and oh so blue.

"Oh, that box" he said.

Cue me outright sobbing. I'm crying as I write this, dears. My BFF hugged me close. Oh, that monologue was magnificent, Amelia sleeping and getting back what she had lost (because if that Silence).

I was so happy she remembered and yeah, despite another Peter Pan ending, I thought it was elegant, especially with them traipsing off with the Doctor after the wedding reception - yay, three people on the TARDIS. My fave number.

Also "Mister Pond"! Hells yes!

Now. River. River is fast becoming my Jack replacement with her awesomeness.

"MERCY!"
"Say it again"

No mercy. Fuck, that was hawt. She does have hints of Jack (well, of the 51st century, how brilliant would it be if we were all so flirty and easy going all the time, huh?!) not to mention (that Vortex Manipulator belonged to some Handsome Time Agent who now doesn't have a hand... hello there Meta Text!) and she saved the world and the Doctor.

I'm really glad we're going to discover more about her, despite knowing her end game, or like the Doctor, because of her end game.

She is so kick ass, I can't even...

But mainly, happy ending and everybody lived. I was happy.

The whole season was lovely, especially with the weaving of the plot backwards in this final episode and the clues which we can now retroactively see throughout their travels.

I thorougly enjoyed it (except the WW2 ep, what was with the whole hitting of the Daleks and practically rimming the Prime Minister, dude! The Doctor would not have been so enamoured with Churchill!).

I do have a few, meh points...
Besides Liz 10 (May She Be Forever The Defender of the Defunct Faith) were there any other non-white characters? Oh, yes, Meera Syal (can I just say that I couldn't have cast them better myself)... but that's it, isn't it? Is it just me, or were there many more in previous seasons? ETA I just remembered the father-daughter peeps in the Venice ep who were black... and died... yeah...

Also, what is with the Hetero-Love-Ville!

Only with Vincent did I feel any kind of acknowledgement of same sex erotica and of course in "The Lodger" there was acknowledgement that people may bring a same sex bed-mate back to the flat. But that's it!

Where is my Gay Agenda!?!?!

Still, it was a lovely, elegant and bravo worthy finale.

I can't wait for Christmas.

Now excuse as I search for TARDIS and River Song icons.

I have my new Tardis-a-trois in Eleven, Rory and Amy. I love it when the Doctor has more than one Companion.
(Oh, I missed the time of Nine-Rose-Jack so much! Even thought they were shown to the full extent only in one episode, Boom Town, they were absolutely fantastic. The perfect fit.)
Also, I love that there isn't much of UST around the Doctor. I loved the ust-y storylines, but they are getting old.
And I hope that we'll see how the Doctor deals with the dynamics of a married couple in his ship :)

Speaking of the ship: this wedding line being abouth the Tardis? BRILLIANT. And the scene where Amy says it, in her wedding dress, with the wind raising around? Totally a fairy tale, and GREAT.

River is absolutely gorgeous and brilliant and I love her oh. so. much.
Also, I think it's fantastic that we have a woman over 40 as a sexy and kick-ass action hero.

But yeah, there's less divercity in terms of race and queerness.

The TARDIS is a wonderful lovely character.

And that might be why this episode made me feel good in the same way that Bad Wolf/The Parting of the Ways made me feel good, it's about the TARDIS and about The Doctor thinking he can't fix things anymore, but a companion doing it instead, just because she's brilliant and wonderful.

And do you know about [livejournal.com profile] doctard? The comm celebrating the OTP of the Doctor and the Tardis.

Although I suspect I'm leaning more to the OT3 of Doctor/TARDIS/sonic screwdriver

I really miss RTD and his gay agenda. The Moff is a bit too straight for me!!

You should find some River icons here. I would make my own but my software is not up to much

Everybody lives! And a wedding! It's like Steven said, "Russel, you were great, but you're far too depressing at your endings."

Amy! River! The TARDIS! And Rory, once again of flesh instead of plastic.

I'm really excited for next series to see how this goes and whether Moffat will insist on a Doctor Disaster for Mrs and Mr. Pond.

Here, I'm hoping a bit that we get to see Jack and River in he same episode being who they are. I don't know if the Doctor could handle it.

V and Justice

V: Ah, I was forgetting that we are not properly introduced. I do not have a name. You can call me V. Madam Justice...this is V. V... this is Madam Justice. hello, Madam Justice.

Justice: Good evening, V.

V: There. Now we know each other. Actually, I've been a fan of yours for quite some time. Oh, I know what you're thinking...

Justice: The poor boy has a crush on me...an adolescent fatuation.

V: I beg your pardon, Madam. It isn't like that at all. I've long admired you...albeit only from a distance. I used to stare at you from the streets below when I was a child. I'd say to my father, "Who is that lady?" And he'd say "That's Madam Justice." And I'd say "Isn't she pretty."

V: Please don't think it was merely physical. I know you're not that sort of girl. No, I loved you as a person. As an ideal.

Justice: What? V! For shame! You have betrayed me for some harlot, some vain and pouting hussy with painted lips and a knowing smile!

V: I, Madam? I beg to differ! It was your infidelity that drove me to her arms!

V: Ah-ha! That surprised you, didn't it? You thought I didn't know about your little fling. But I do. I know everything! Frankly, I wasn't surprised when I found out. You always did have an eye for a man in uniform.

Justice: Uniform? Why I'm sure I don't know what you're talking about. It was always you, V. You were the only one...

V: Liar! Slut! Whore! Deny that you let him have his way with you, him with his armbands and jackboots!

V: Well? Cat got your tongue? I though as much.

V: Very well. So you stand revealed at last. you are no longer my justice. You are his justice now. You have bedded another.

Justice: Sob! Choke! Wh-who is she, V? What is her name?

V: Her name is Anarchy. And she has taught me more as a mistress than you ever did! She has taught me that justice is meaningless without freedom. She is honest. She makes no promises and breaks none. Unlike you, Jezebel. I used to wonder why you could never look me in the eye. Now I know. So good bye, dear lady. I would be saddened by our parting even now, save that you are no longer the woman I once loved.

*KABOOM!*
