Last night was the Tori Amos concert and it was amazing, we sat high up but that didn't matter because her energy, performance and singing were just out of this world, my throat is absoloutly raw, she performed some of my and Tami's favourite songs, I cried in one of them, she was so moving. Since it was the 4th of July (Independance Day) she wore an American Flag catsuit for her performance, it was hilarious and she played on two pianos (a grand and a keyboard) simultaniously.
She really is a wonderful performer.
She sang 14 songs (not in any order whatsoever):
Winter (I cried *sniff* and so did Tami, she perfromed alone on the grand, how could we not?!)
A Sorta Fairytale
Home on the Range (yes, where the buffalo roam)
Big Wheel
Yo George
Almost Rosey
Beauty of Speed
Code Red
Devils and Gods
Cornflake Girl
Liquid Diamonds
Cought a little sneeze
Sweet Dreams
Doghnut Shop
And performed two encores (another 4 songs):
Precious Things (my favourite song!!!)
God (another fave)
The Waitress ("I believe in Peace, BITCH!")
Hey Jupiter
The only thing I didn't understand was the reaction from the crowd, I mean, nobody (other than Tami and I) sang along, nobody moved to the music, nothing. Everyone was Frosty McFrost and some young girl who sat next to Tami asked her to be quiet!!!! because her singing along was distracting!!!!!!!
These are the people that invented Punk, Metal and Progressive Rock?!!!
Friends, the English (No offence to the English on my f-list or those reading, I'm sure you're as cool as can be) are such Putzes! We were getting looks for being enthusiastic at a rock concert, I mean, what the fuck?!
In any event, Tami and I put a bubble around us and Tori Amos and had a blast, when she performs again in Israel, I'm going and I'm going to sit in the front row.
We also had quite an adeventure on the way home where we took the Underground to King's Cross in order to catch the Night Bus back home to the London 'burbs. We really didn't think it would be so horribel because we checked everything online before we left. Well, the Internet lief and we ended up taking a Night Bus to Trafelgar Square where we
still couldn't find the relevant bus back to our house (which is not in the middle of the street) and ended up taking a cab.
On the way we saw a sign for our bus number and got out paying so much money for a cab ride and when we got to the station we saw that our last bus had left at 10 minutes after midnight.
It was already nearly one a.m.
Yeah, fuck.
So we caught another cab and payed even more money to get home.
Which we did.
And then after collapsing onto our beds and sang and talked about Tori we died and were resurrected this morning.
Eariler Yesterday we went to Notting Hill and Portobello Road, I baought a few second hand comic books and Tami and I had some coffee and gourme cupcakes at the Hummingbird Cafe, then we went to the National Gallery (in order to escape the rain) and I almost tripped the alarm because I was enthusiastic about a painting and reached across the rope to show Tami something.
All in all the best day so far.
In addition, the genocide in Darfur must be stopped.
וכמו כן, צריך לעצור את רצח העם בדרפור.
