Apr. 13th, 2006 05:42 pmI hate going to the gym.
I hate exercising.
It feels like a total waste of time that I could be wasting else where.
I do not enjoy the step machine, the weight machines or this silly knew destroying thing they call aerobics.
Throughout my years of consciously exercising I've enjoyed three things;
Spinning - But I'd rather do real cycling, you know, outside... in the fresh air and not smell other people's sweat. However, I do not know how to ride a bicycle - don't laugh - so that's moot).
Strip Dancing - But that I did once at the intense coercion of my friend SK (thank you!) and while I enjoyed it, it's not for me, dancing was never something I particularly took much pleasure in and would much prefer to leave that to parties and the occasional (see; rare) club outing.
And Kung Fu - My oh my how I loved Kung Fu. I did it for two years during high school and then sporadically during the Army, I haven't gone in nearly a year.
During high school, the years that I did it, I'd go twice a week and that time was my thinnest and most limber of my life.
I used to be able to do the splits goddamn it!
I was in the best shape of my life and then the effing army destroyed my body with the depression and the comfort food my depression required.
I was also able to defend myself.
I was able to call myself a "beginner warrior".
I want to be a warrior.
So, instead of going back to the gym (which I despised), I'm going to go to Kung Fu (which I adored) at least twice a week, because it's just worth it!
