A meme!
Comment to this post, and I will list seven things I would be interested to hear you to talk about. They might make sense or they might be totally random.
Then post that list, with your commentary, to your journal. Other people can get lists from you, and the meme merrily perpetuates itself.
There questions were asked by the lovely
dancesontrains.
1. What drew you to paganism?
I was a rebellious and questioning teenager who drew quite a lot of inspiration from Willow on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. What drew me at the time was the fact that it was mystical and special and practicing it made me special. I never really practiced it, but I loved the books and I enjoyed looking at the Tarot cards - I consider it one of the better phases I went through as a teenager. Paganism taught me to be critical of religion in general, because what's the difference between one god and many?
Not much, they exist out of human imagination and faith, not the other way around.
2. What sort of country would you like to move to (could be a fictional one)?
I'd really like to live in a country where I didn't feel the oppression of my gender, sexuality, politics and spirituality was the norm. Beyond it being the norm, I'm silly to expect to be treated like a human being due to all of those thing.
3. How did you first discover fandom?
I always say I come from a fannish family. I used to watch cartoon with my brother when I was a young girl and he introduced me to Star Trek:TOS when I was 7. The local sci-fi/fantasy con started about 15 years ago and my brother, my mother and I would go to look at the second hand books and watch the episodes they played at the cinemateque where the con would be held.
But fandom the way I frame it today, I probably discovered when I was 13 and trawling the internet for the first time :)
4. Do you still choose to not shave/wax body hair?
Yep, still hairy! Still sometimes pluck my eyebrows and peach fuzz over my lip though.
5. Who's the lady in your icon?
The lady in my default icon is Jenna Kaye, played by Larisa Oleynick. She was a guest actor in the first and second season of the new "Hawaii Five-0", her character died and I really wanted her to live, so in postmortem, I resurrected her as my icon. We had the same hair cut and she was short and kinda dykey looking and I really appreciated seeing someone who looked kinda like me on that show.
6. Robots or zombies?
Robots. A well placed EMP and no more apocalypse!
7. What question(s) do you wish someone would ask you?
I love questions about fandom that I can be thinky about. Because I like to be critical about the things I love. I also love questions about why I like certain things in fandom because it's very closely intertwined with my identity over all and those are fun to answer :)
