To Celebrate!
Sep. 12th, 2011 11:13 pmAs many of you know I haven't been around much because I have been busy finishing off my degree, working three part times jobs and going to demonstrations to make sure my country doesn't implode on itself.
I did, however, manage to distract myself thoroughly by becoming addicted to a show that should have been the biggest turn off ever.
Because #1 it's a cop buddy show, #2 it's a remake of a classic (so yeah, there was a gender switch of one the mains).
I honestly did not expect to fall so in love with Hawaii Five-0. But even more so, I never expected to fall for head over heels fannishly in love with one Scott Caan. I've known the man for years as a side-actor, more as a "Hey, it's that guy" and as the progeny of one James Caan - who is staple in my House of Cinephiles!
So, once I was lured via picspams (something which never appealed to the feminist in me, because you know, I, er, totally oppose objectification of any kind. Yeah, watch me eat my words) of Scott, I checked out the show and subsequently, Scott himself.
And here I am, posting a picspam of my own. Most likely if you follow Hawaii Five-0 fandom you have seen them all, but these are my favourites for various reasons.
We'll start off with my #1 favourite:

The reason this is my favourite, beyond the polka dot socks, is that he is sitting in a corner and writing and let me tell you, his scripts are fucking amazing. Just, I am in love with his brain and this pic absolutely shows it off.

More creative Scott, with the added bonus of a beard. Why yes, I do love the facial hair.
Which brings us to the next pic:

The pic that caused much contention in fandom. While I'm well aware that not everyone likes the same thing or finds the same things attractive; some of the comments attached to this pic were down right offensive. Body hair isn't gross, body hair shouldn't have to be removed for the benefit of someone else's gaze and it should certainly not be an excuse to disparage someone else's habits in body maintenance. Or disparage someone at all.
Just saying.
Also consider this pic of "Daddy" Caan:
Are they not dead ringers for each other? At least we know that Scott will age nicely :) And speaking of James, is this not adorable!

Yeah it is.

I love this pic, not just aesthetically, but also because if you look at the writing on the blackboard you will see that written on it is "Dramaturgy" and "Drama". Scott is a guest lecturer in a drama class. Scott is a very underrated actor. He is actually amazing. Over the past few weeks I've watched a bunch of movies that feature him; some were amazing, some were good, some were downright mediocre and even in the ones I vowed never to watch again, he always out acted his contemporaries.

This is more a pic of his character Danny on Hawaii Five-0, where, among other things, he plays a doting father to that little girl. Danny's nickname for his daughter Grace is "Monkey". You can see why.

And Scott's mad skills in the water is a nice way to finish off this celebratory picspam.

delicatale for posting this one this morning. We need to spread the love for Scott surfing in Hawaii
I hope you all enjoyed that. I know I did.
Even if you're not a fan of Hawaii Five-0 and never intend to watch the show, I urge you to check this man out. I'll probably post a review of some of the better movies he's been in; I watched his bad stuff so that you don't have too!

Date: 2011-09-13 05:46 am (UTC)It took forever to get to the plot!
FOREVER! And what plot there was, was terrible!
It was pretty, but I felt like my brain was leaking out of my ears. Possibly, I should have watched it muted.
