The day after
Feb. 18th, 2006 10:36 amSo where do I start.
1) To all of my friends who came for the send off, thank you so very much. I don't think I've ever felt so loved and appreciated in my life. I don't think I ever had so many important people in my life. Thank you for giving a wonderful thing to look foreword to when I come back.
2) My family, thinking about you in Israel is making me tear up again, I don't think it has sunken in how far away I actually am. I miss you and of course have numerous ways of staying in touch. The one thing I keep thinking about with a heavy heart is missing Leigh's visit, but come summer it won't be so bad.
3) Both flights went fine, the one to London was particularly good, because they had "Serenity" and "Capote" as the movies... unfortunately I was so tired I fell asleep during both of them. Luckily Jade and Rami have a מנוי to a DVD place, so those are the first movies I'll be seeing in the US.
The wait in London was terrible, five hours with nothing to do and of course I waited on the farthest side of the Terminal and it took me twenty bloody minutes to get from gate 3 (which was where the quiet room was0 to gate 23 (where my flight to Philly was). The flight to Philly was also good, the food was not bad and I didn't get airsick, which is always a plus.
Customs gave me no trouble at all and my luggage arrived very quickly.
Rami and Shvo were there waiting for me.
I had missed them so much.
By the time we got home Libby had already been in bed, but I went to look at her for a little so it was great.
Rami made pasta for supper and then we stayed up late 'till we all went to sleep.
Oh, I read a bed time story for Shvo which was fun, he's so good.
Got up at 08:40 this morning, quite refreshed, I have my own room (obviously) and lot's of place for all my stuff, the only think missing is a place to put my hanging stuff which right now reside on the door's door-nob.
That is all.

Date: 2006-02-18 05:17 pm (UTC)I wish I could offer helpful advice on how to deal with homesickness, but honestly, I've never left the U.S. Not that this is a good thing.
I hope it gets better, I know you'll have a good time. :)
