Eight hours and I'm out.

Yes, that job I got last week, the Boss fired me.

After eight hours experience and I've been made redundant.

I'm not really too concerned, this wasn't my bread and butter after all, but seriously, this a wee bit strange.
I'm obviously not up to the standard of a minimum wage, shop-grrl material (which I totally am, by the way).

Maybe my happy-go-lucky disposition offended him...

I really can't say.

I still love that shop and will continue patronizing it, but Dude... I can only imagine that's a permanent "Wanted" sign in the door.

As far as I'm concerned he's missing out on a worker who truly loves the sort of thing that go on in that store; schlepping, dust and everything.

Good luck to him finding someone else who suits that store as well as I did.

But still... *scratches head*

I know!
Dude, the universe is telling us that we need to chill, I think.
At least that's how I'm choosing to take one man's total unreasonable-ness.

I'm telling you, it's my sunny happy-go-lucky disposition that did it!

Stupid people. Did he give out a reason? Even if he did, still, stupid.

He said he felt I wasn't "right" for the job, basically.

Yeah, I know.

Very.
Though it's very much a "Them Not Me" issue.
Yeah it sucks to be fired, but I'm not too bothered by it and in the end it's more his problem.

;P

Thats bizarre... You seem to have some rough luck with being fired from jobs - didn't something similar happen a few years ago with a secretarial job? Its a bummer that workers rights aren't better.

Dude, good memory! Though I imagine you may have scrolled through the mem's(?).

Yeah, getting fired seems to be a trend, the only job I've been able to hold steady for the past few years have been infant care.

But as I've mentioned I'm not all that concerned as I consider it his loss.
The secretarial job was pretty sucky in any event.

Hmmm...sounds like he doesn't actually want anyone in the shop with him! Bookshop owners are seriously weird people.

Whuuuut?

Are you even allowed to fire people without giving an actual reason?

Definitely his loss, and totally strange.

Yea... tomorrow I'm meeting my therapist, I'm looking forward to hearing her take on the weirdness that were two days on the job.

*sigh*

sorry to hear about it!

I've been fired twice. Once from a silly job (boring, short term low pay), my voice wasn't cheerful enough (I was telephone-operator) and I didn't dress up enough. (I was doorwoman at a cleaning company !! this is one and the same job)
The other was shitty, (long term job, nice (at the Anne Frank Huis)) got fired after being on half sick leave for 2 years. I had hoped I would feel better and be able to find an other job and go on in my healing process, but in stead I become worse and got depressed and only 5 years later I ended up at the hospital. So *grrrr* but I guess your firing will be less high impact.

Awww man, that's so unfair.

Yeah, this firing wasn't that high impact as what you describe. Mainly confused.

V and Justice

V: Ah, I was forgetting that we are not properly introduced. I do not have a name. You can call me V. Madam Justice...this is V. V... this is Madam Justice. hello, Madam Justice.

Justice: Good evening, V.

V: There. Now we know each other. Actually, I've been a fan of yours for quite some time. Oh, I know what you're thinking...

Justice: The poor boy has a crush on me...an adolescent fatuation.

V: I beg your pardon, Madam. It isn't like that at all. I've long admired you...albeit only from a distance. I used to stare at you from the streets below when I was a child. I'd say to my father, "Who is that lady?" And he'd say "That's Madam Justice." And I'd say "Isn't she pretty."

V: Please don't think it was merely physical. I know you're not that sort of girl. No, I loved you as a person. As an ideal.

Justice: What? V! For shame! You have betrayed me for some harlot, some vain and pouting hussy with painted lips and a knowing smile!

V: I, Madam? I beg to differ! It was your infidelity that drove me to her arms!

V: Ah-ha! That surprised you, didn't it? You thought I didn't know about your little fling. But I do. I know everything! Frankly, I wasn't surprised when I found out. You always did have an eye for a man in uniform.

Justice: Uniform? Why I'm sure I don't know what you're talking about. It was always you, V. You were the only one...

V: Liar! Slut! Whore! Deny that you let him have his way with you, him with his armbands and jackboots!

V: Well? Cat got your tongue? I though as much.

V: Very well. So you stand revealed at last. you are no longer my justice. You are his justice now. You have bedded another.

Justice: Sob! Choke! Wh-who is she, V? What is her name?

V: Her name is Anarchy. And she has taught me more as a mistress than you ever did! She has taught me that justice is meaningless without freedom. She is honest. She makes no promises and breaks none. Unlike you, Jezebel. I used to wonder why you could never look me in the eye. Now I know. So good bye, dear lady. I would be saddened by our parting even now, save that you are no longer the woman I once loved.

*KABOOM!*
