Okay, you know how when you go to a movie with no expectations you end up having a blast?
This did not happen this evening.

You don't mess with the Zohan is the worst movie I've never seen, because I left the movie about half an hour into it.

Friends... it was bad.
Beyond bad.
It was utter shit.

Luckily my friend and I snuck out and into The Incredible Hulk, which was much, much better, though compared to Iron Man it was a disappointment, but still, so much than Zohan which was the most offensive waste of reel I could never imagine: it was offensive to women, to Jews, to Arabs, to Israelis, to Palestinians, to New-Yorkers... to bloody humanity!

I'm boycotting Adam Sandler! I'm never going to see another movie he makes no matter what other actor/actress that I like is in it.

It was just... I dunno. I was covering my eyes from the horror most of the time and my friend suggested we leave, after a minute I practically ran out of there.

Do not see that movie.
Do not let give money to that machine of not just bad taste, but complete disregard to the most basic of decency between people.

I repeat: Do Not Go To That Movie!

The Hulk is way more worth your money.

So what you're saying is that Adam Sandler brilliantly tries to solve the middle east conflict by giving all peoples a common ground that they can agree on and a common purpose. Hatred of him.

Yes, he brilliantly solves the middle east conflict by leaving the middle east and reducing himself and every single person he encounters into a caricature that isn't even funny.
Just offensive.
It felt like he was saying, hey look how offensive I am to everyone ain't it funny.
He missed the mark... completely.

Not to belabor the point, but it's an Adam Sandler movie about a fey Israeli counterterrorist-cum-hairdresser. What did you expect, dear?

Nothing!
Low expectations to no expectations!

It was horrible!

What I meant to say was that you should have gone in expecting it to be offensive, at least on an intellectual level. And I say that as someone who likes Sandler and still wants to see it.

I'd never pay for it in the theater, though.

Just thinking about it pains me!

I hate Adam Sandler. OK, that's harsh, I intensely dislike his films, and won't watch any of them.

It's not the humour that I enjoy.

I can only second aesiron and ask Why did you go to that movie?
Suggest you watch FOTR again as therapy.

lol.. really, you hated it?
i thought iron man was so offensive, i spent the entire time waving my hands and ranting to my friend. it was the military superhero version of nice white lady. i really hated it... and was looking forward to zohan! i haven't seen it so i can't judge, but in my mind, at least, i think i prefer pungent and slightly accurate racist caricutures to patronizing white-man's-fantasy characters that are happy to die for the future-virtuous currently-conflicted American arms dealer who goes on to blast away lots of brown people.
but... i will watch zohan with a mindful eye, after reading this. :)

Wow, seriously?!
Because while Iron Man has it's issues (don't think I'm not aware), I think the movie handled most of the issues (including some, though not all) regarding race - the only person in Iron Man who is just plain decent is the Yinsen, the doctor who saved Stark's life, and he's Afghani.

I have a lot to say about your comment, because much of it is true, but it's also, imo, just a surface reading of Iron Man - Zohan was just too bad for me to be able to go beyond the surface - Iron Man has the advantage of being unbelievably Cool! :D

I don't know what I was thinking.
Really, I've never liked this kind of movie before - I guess I swallowed the Israeli thing like I was supposed to.
*sigh*
At least I saw "Hulk" which def. made up for it.

I don't know at what stage you started watching, but I thought Hulk started off much more strongly than it finished (no pun intended), so look out for it when it comes on TV /rent the DVD so you can see the beginning.

I thought that that's exactly when the movie started going downhill, more correctly when he reaches the states.

V and Justice

V: Ah, I was forgetting that we are not properly introduced. I do not have a name. You can call me V. Madam Justice...this is V. V... this is Madam Justice. hello, Madam Justice.

Justice: Good evening, V.

V: There. Now we know each other. Actually, I've been a fan of yours for quite some time. Oh, I know what you're thinking...

Justice: The poor boy has a crush on me...an adolescent fatuation.

V: I beg your pardon, Madam. It isn't like that at all. I've long admired you...albeit only from a distance. I used to stare at you from the streets below when I was a child. I'd say to my father, "Who is that lady?" And he'd say "That's Madam Justice." And I'd say "Isn't she pretty."

V: Please don't think it was merely physical. I know you're not that sort of girl. No, I loved you as a person. As an ideal.

Justice: What? V! For shame! You have betrayed me for some harlot, some vain and pouting hussy with painted lips and a knowing smile!

V: I, Madam? I beg to differ! It was your infidelity that drove me to her arms!

V: Ah-ha! That surprised you, didn't it? You thought I didn't know about your little fling. But I do. I know everything! Frankly, I wasn't surprised when I found out. You always did have an eye for a man in uniform.

Justice: Uniform? Why I'm sure I don't know what you're talking about. It was always you, V. You were the only one...

V: Liar! Slut! Whore! Deny that you let him have his way with you, him with his armbands and jackboots!

V: Well? Cat got your tongue? I though as much.

V: Very well. So you stand revealed at last. you are no longer my justice. You are his justice now. You have bedded another.

Justice: Sob! Choke! Wh-who is she, V? What is her name?

V: Her name is Anarchy. And she has taught me more as a mistress than you ever did! She has taught me that justice is meaningless without freedom. She is honest. She makes no promises and breaks none. Unlike you, Jezebel. I used to wonder why you could never look me in the eye. Now I know. So good bye, dear lady. I would be saddened by our parting even now, save that you are no longer the woman I once loved.

*KABOOM!*
