A meme

[livejournal.com profile] aesiron asked me questions, here are my answers:

1. What do you believe happens after you die?

I believe in Reincarnation, so I believe the soul passes on through the Nothingness of the Universe and is reborn as something or someone new. I don't know how to explain the metaphysics of it all, because it is a belief and with that I'm taking a leap of faith. But being the Agnostic open minded person I am (if I may be so pretentious) I could be wrong and am willing to accept that after death there is nothing, because like all these things, there may be nothing more to like than biology to our lives.
Though my dreams of being an Egyptian Priest of Inepu (Anubis) would be very strange indeed...

2. What would you do if given fifty million NIS (New Israeli Shekels), tax free?

I'd help pay my brother's mortgage, pay my tuition forever, but a hybrid and build an eco-friendly building for myself and others who wished to live green (the rents would be put in my bank account and into various charities*) and the rest would be given to create Trust Funds for my Nephews and Nieces and if I had any left over I'd greedily hoard in my bank account and various charities.

*Environmental Awareness and Support, Women's Shelters, Funding Humanitarian Aid and that kind of thing... yeah, yeah, I'm a bleeding heart cry-baby.

3. Would you accept the position of Prime Minister of Israel if given the opportunity? If not, why, and, if so, what kind of reforms would you attempt to push through?

No I would not accept the position at this point in my life, mainly because the reforms I wish to push forth would require me to compromise to many of my ideals and values in order for my agenda to even be put under general consideration. I know that I'm too extreme for many people in this country and would rather be in a position of power where what I'd like to see Israel be, would actually be accepted, the reforms I look at are mainly social and one can push that kind of reform through the Knesset (our Parliament) and not actually the Prime Minister's office which focuses, at this point, on security and my views on security don't suit the country's mood at this time.

4. What fictional reality would you live in if given the choice? Assume you're the same exact person and are otherwise average so if it was the BtVS universe, you'd be just another happy meal on legs and if it were the DC multiverse, you'd have no special abilities.

I think the fictional reality I'd most like to live in, despite the blatant theocracy is the "His Dark Materials" universe created by Phillip Pullman. In this alternate (and parallel in the books) universe, the sould lives outside the body in the form of an animal that suits the personality. They're called Deamons and children's ones are changeable until they're on the brink of adolescence which is when the basis of your personality is clear and thus the Deamon is fixed in what it will be until the person dies. Every average person has a Deamon and I think it's lovely to be a normal person with your own soul to talk to.

5. If you had to change your race, color, sex, gender, religion, national origin, or age, in what order would you choose and why?

That's a toughie, because so much of my Identity has to do with those things (which is exactly why I was asked that, obviously). But if I had to change anything I'd probably change my age, because I feel much older than 22 and look younger or exactly my age and I'd much rather look as though I was in my thirties which what I feel very often on the inside. And the other thing I'd change is probably the colour of my skin, not because of the politics, but because my paleness doesn't bloody well tan! I always end up looking cooked or boiled, which is annoying, because I peel. So I'd much rather have darker skin.
The rest I'm pretty okay with, seeing as my race (white or Jewish, depending who you ask, the same of you ask me), sex, gender, religion and national origin (Litvak, but in fact Israeli) are all pretty much vilified in one way or another, I enjoy the notoriety of being a white, femme, Jewish, Israeli, Woman... with a Bad Reputation :)

If you want to do the meme... well, you know what to do.

In addition, the genocide in Darfur must be stopped.

וכמו כן, צריך לעצור את רצח העם בדרפור.

Here are mine to you:

#1 What super power would you like to have and why?
#2 (I like this question, so...)If you had to change your race, color, sex, gender, religion, national origin, or age, in what order would you choose and why?
#3 If you had the option of going back in time, where would you go, what would you do and why?
#4 If you had to, would you rather lose your sight or your hearing, and why?
#5 Briefly, What do you think is the best and worst about the human mind?

Here:

#1 If you had the option of going back in time, where would you go, what would you do and why?
#2 (I liked this question) What do you believe happens after you die?
#3 What do you think is your greatest achievement (in any field you chose).
#4 Briefly, What do you think is the best and worst about the human mind?
#5 Other than Israel, where would you consider living your life and why?

1. I would go back 25 years, tell my mom that I do not need a "marketable skill" and study what I wanted to instead of business.
2 I really think you just stop existing.
3. I suppose having and raising my daughters. Also the fact I create a happy safe place for my students where they know they will be respected and cared for.
4. god this is a hard one! Best is the ability to create beauty, worst is to think of ways to take advantage of others.
5. I do not really think there is another place for me. I could no longer live in the US and I am not familiar with any other place.

Indeedy... lets see, lets see.

I like the questions I've thought up, so you're getting a few repeats from previous comments:

#1 Briefly, What do you think is the best and worst about the human mind?
#2 If you had the option of going back in time, where would you go, what would you do and why?
#3 (a question I was asked and liked) If you had to change your race, color, sex, gender, religion, national origin, or age, in what order would you choose and why?
#4 (another I was asked and liked) What do you believe happens after you die?
#5 What event in (anywhere or whichever interests you) History would you change? Why and do you think the consequences of the change would be?

What to ask, what to ask.... hmmmmm.

#1 What is your favourite song, truly, out of the thousands you listen to, and why?
#2 Other than oxygen, water, sustenance, Tori Amos and HP... what can't you live without?
#3 Briefly, What do you think is the best and worst about the human mind?
#4 If, GD/DESS forbid, you had to leave Israel for good, where would you most like to live?
#5 What alternate universe would you like to live in, if it meant being just an Average Jane like here? (see the question I got for examples).

#1 I know you want to work in International Relations, what country would you like to work in the most and why?

Well, the two directions I'd love to go in would be either defense/national security; or diplomacy. So the former I'd be thrilled to work in the US, and the latter just about anywhere. As far as the countries I see myself most eager or adaptable to work in besides the US, I'd say Spain or Israel - Spain because I've been in love with it since I was like, two, and when I finally got to go there at 16 I never, ever wanted to leave. It's one of the only places in the world about which I can get so nostalgic it's physically painful.

Israel because, dude, it's Israel, and I get nostalgic about it without having even been there yet.

Although honestly, I'd work just about anywhere.

#2 (A question I was asked and liked) If you had to change your race, color, sex, gender, religion, national origin, or age, in what order would you choose and why?

I'm pretty satisfied with the way I stand on most of these - I might bump my age up a few years just to be able to have the independence that would be healthiest for me. Living at home with a family so dysfunctional it keeps my friends from ever visiting is just... not good for the spirit.

The one thing I'd really change isn't on that list, though. Take a guess what that might be.

#3 What is your favourite time of day (within the 24 hours) and why?

Evening and night - time to be alone with myself, it's not too hot/cold, and I can run off somewhere and just finally relax and hear myself think.

Have to run for a bit, but - the rest coming soon.

V and Justice

V: Ah, I was forgetting that we are not properly introduced. I do not have a name. You can call me V. Madam Justice...this is V. V... this is Madam Justice. hello, Madam Justice.

Justice: Good evening, V.

V: There. Now we know each other. Actually, I've been a fan of yours for quite some time. Oh, I know what you're thinking...

Justice: The poor boy has a crush on me...an adolescent fatuation.

V: I beg your pardon, Madam. It isn't like that at all. I've long admired you...albeit only from a distance. I used to stare at you from the streets below when I was a child. I'd say to my father, "Who is that lady?" And he'd say "That's Madam Justice." And I'd say "Isn't she pretty."

V: Please don't think it was merely physical. I know you're not that sort of girl. No, I loved you as a person. As an ideal.

Justice: What? V! For shame! You have betrayed me for some harlot, some vain and pouting hussy with painted lips and a knowing smile!

V: I, Madam? I beg to differ! It was your infidelity that drove me to her arms!

V: Ah-ha! That surprised you, didn't it? You thought I didn't know about your little fling. But I do. I know everything! Frankly, I wasn't surprised when I found out. You always did have an eye for a man in uniform.

Justice: Uniform? Why I'm sure I don't know what you're talking about. It was always you, V. You were the only one...

V: Liar! Slut! Whore! Deny that you let him have his way with you, him with his armbands and jackboots!

V: Well? Cat got your tongue? I though as much.

V: Very well. So you stand revealed at last. you are no longer my justice. You are his justice now. You have bedded another.

Justice: Sob! Choke! Wh-who is she, V? What is her name?

V: Her name is Anarchy. And she has taught me more as a mistress than you ever did! She has taught me that justice is meaningless without freedom. She is honest. She makes no promises and breaks none. Unlike you, Jezebel. I used to wonder why you could never look me in the eye. Now I know. So good bye, dear lady. I would be saddened by our parting even now, save that you are no longer the woman I once loved.

*KABOOM!*
