Saw the first two episodes of "Heroes".

Eh.

Saw episodes 9-14 of "House M.D." and tomorrow I'll be seeing episode 15 with [livejournal.com profile] tamara_russo.

OMG, it was so effing great! More Hugh! More TV Girlfriend!
Ach, I was in rapture, so good, so great.

"Heroes"... not so much. Which I don't understand since so many people have told me how good it is, so many of my friends are fans and we all generally have similar taste in shows and fandom in general.
And if someone tells me I need to keep watching to get really into it, I'm sorry, no. A show should grab you from the Pilot and if not the Pilot then at least the second ep. Well I watched the Pilot and second ep and felt I'd read all this somewhere, that it had been done. I mean all you need to do is crack open an X-Men TP.
So While it was good, I fail to see the awesomeness and greatness in this oh, so original show.

I'll keep track, because it's sci-fi/fantasy show and many people like it and talk about it, so it's worth knowing, but as far as loving it so much as to get obsessed.
Naw, I don't think so.

I guess Heroes is like LOST. You either love it or hate it. I love it :) I tried to get into house but no can do :)

Clair's story caught me, and it only gets high gear way later IIRC.

saying that Heroes isn't original seems kind of an elitist attitude to me. pooh-poohing it because you're a big expert on the bigger-and-better-ORIGINAL-idea seems shallow to me. i adore Heroes because the writing is excellent, the acting extroardinary, and Hiro adorable.

of course Heroes is a lot like X-Men. it's like a bunch of other stuff that came BEFORE X-Men as well. if you're watching Heroes with an eye towards X-Men, then I say don't bother watching Heroes. If you can't enjoy it because you're too busy comparing it to something else, you're not really watching it anways.

If I don't find it original all I'm saying is that I've "seen" it done before.

I'm not pooh-poohing any of the fans or the people who enjoy it, I'm just saying it how I see it and I see nothing wrong with that. Having viewed three episodes which failed to capture me, despite it being "my king of show" I don't see why I shouldn't compare it to other stuff which I find more to my liking.
I'm glad you're like the writing and the acting and find Hiro adorable, but I'm allowed not to and not being called "elitist".

And besides, "House M.D." isn't original either, all you have to do is open up a Sherlock Holmes Novel and there you go and if it's the attitude of House is what you like there have been numerous television curmudgeons since the dawn of the Network.

Some things work, some things don't. "Heroes" didn't work for me.

V and Justice

V: Ah, I was forgetting that we are not properly introduced. I do not have a name. You can call me V. Madam Justice...this is V. V... this is Madam Justice. hello, Madam Justice.

Justice: Good evening, V.

V: There. Now we know each other. Actually, I've been a fan of yours for quite some time. Oh, I know what you're thinking...

Justice: The poor boy has a crush on me...an adolescent fatuation.

V: I beg your pardon, Madam. It isn't like that at all. I've long admired you...albeit only from a distance. I used to stare at you from the streets below when I was a child. I'd say to my father, "Who is that lady?" And he'd say "That's Madam Justice." And I'd say "Isn't she pretty."

V: Please don't think it was merely physical. I know you're not that sort of girl. No, I loved you as a person. As an ideal.

Justice: What? V! For shame! You have betrayed me for some harlot, some vain and pouting hussy with painted lips and a knowing smile!

V: I, Madam? I beg to differ! It was your infidelity that drove me to her arms!

V: Ah-ha! That surprised you, didn't it? You thought I didn't know about your little fling. But I do. I know everything! Frankly, I wasn't surprised when I found out. You always did have an eye for a man in uniform.

Justice: Uniform? Why I'm sure I don't know what you're talking about. It was always you, V. You were the only one...

V: Liar! Slut! Whore! Deny that you let him have his way with you, him with his armbands and jackboots!

V: Well? Cat got your tongue? I though as much.

V: Very well. So you stand revealed at last. you are no longer my justice. You are his justice now. You have bedded another.

Justice: Sob! Choke! Wh-who is she, V? What is her name?

V: Her name is Anarchy. And she has taught me more as a mistress than you ever did! She has taught me that justice is meaningless without freedom. She is honest. She makes no promises and breaks none. Unlike you, Jezebel. I used to wonder why you could never look me in the eye. Now I know. So good bye, dear lady. I would be saddened by our parting even now, save that you are no longer the woman I once loved.

*KABOOM!*
