Over the years there have been a few shows I felt I had to see - Buffy, Angel (simply because it's the spinn-off), The West Wing (which was my saving grace for the months it was re-run and is now re-running again), House (which [livejournal.com profile] morin is awesome enough to download to DVD for me).
I know I really love a show or any other entertainment medium - since I also read Harry Potter fic, yeah I know I'm a pathetic, sad, geek girl - when I actively seek out fanfiction, which I've been reading steadily for quite some time now, eight years I believe.
Today I got a double dose of my TV Boyfriend, who is not to be confused with my Tv Girlfriend. I also have a Movie Boyfriend and Movie Girlfriend... Did I mention I was pathetic.

*shakes head* Anyway, double dose, yes. Today I saw an episode of the West Wing, first season, it was great, despite seeing the episode like five hundred thousand times (not to worry, I've seen every Buffy episode more), it was still fresh, slick and oh so gooood.
Josh Lyman, played by the aforementioned TV Boyfriend, is probably one of the sexiest characters to have ever graced my television screen, he was so young then, in his late thirties and hair which wasn't, you know, receding as though chased by an angry bear (though since his hair is so thick and he keeps it at a reasonable length it doesn't look like he's balding).
Tonight I saw the pilot to Studio 60, where TV Boyfriend looks much the same only with less hair and more lines on his face... yes he's in his mid-forties. And still sexy.
My brand new TV obsession is Danny Tripp.
I'm itching to read fic.
Itching.
But then I will be spoiled and watching the show will lose part of its charm.
Damnit!
I hate living in a place where the Internet is six months ahead of me, but real life is lagging behind.

I apologize for the incoherency of this post, I am still basking in the delight of the Sorkin, which resembles the loveliness of the Joss and is on the level with the genius of the Gaiman.

Yes, there will be fan posts... about House and TV Girlfriend as well.

The waiter that served me and [livejournal.com profile] sandyleeann at the Sarah Bettens concert a week and a half ago looked like a slightly more hefty and late twenty to mid thirtysomething Alan Rickman. He had everything but the accent and I stared at him for quite a bit before the music started.

You saw an Alan Look-alike?!
Oh, so fun for you! Though I must say that in a certain way Neil Gaiman reminds me of Rickman, the whole big nosed, sarcastic English thing, ya know :)

House rocks my socks. I have the whole show if you want.

I am now re-watching Buffy again, from a different point of view.

So, do tell

Well, I've done quite a few lectures, for which I did quite a bit of academic research about Buffy and specific episodes in Buffy. So watching season 1 and 2 after reading many articles and listening to the commentary gives me an interesting POV on Buffy, 10 years later.

Tell me sbout it, watching the shows after reading something like seven academic books on the subject, not to mention thousands of fics over the past ten years. The show looks a whole lot different!

Here seomthing for you about Movie Boyfriend...

V and Justice

V: Ah, I was forgetting that we are not properly introduced. I do not have a name. You can call me V. Madam Justice...this is V. V... this is Madam Justice. hello, Madam Justice.

Justice: Good evening, V.

V: There. Now we know each other. Actually, I've been a fan of yours for quite some time. Oh, I know what you're thinking...

Justice: The poor boy has a crush on me...an adolescent fatuation.

V: I beg your pardon, Madam. It isn't like that at all. I've long admired you...albeit only from a distance. I used to stare at you from the streets below when I was a child. I'd say to my father, "Who is that lady?" And he'd say "That's Madam Justice." And I'd say "Isn't she pretty."

V: Please don't think it was merely physical. I know you're not that sort of girl. No, I loved you as a person. As an ideal.

Justice: What? V! For shame! You have betrayed me for some harlot, some vain and pouting hussy with painted lips and a knowing smile!

V: I, Madam? I beg to differ! It was your infidelity that drove me to her arms!

V: Ah-ha! That surprised you, didn't it? You thought I didn't know about your little fling. But I do. I know everything! Frankly, I wasn't surprised when I found out. You always did have an eye for a man in uniform.

Justice: Uniform? Why I'm sure I don't know what you're talking about. It was always you, V. You were the only one...

V: Liar! Slut! Whore! Deny that you let him have his way with you, him with his armbands and jackboots!

V: Well? Cat got your tongue? I though as much.

V: Very well. So you stand revealed at last. you are no longer my justice. You are his justice now. You have bedded another.

Justice: Sob! Choke! Wh-who is she, V? What is her name?

V: Her name is Anarchy. And she has taught me more as a mistress than you ever did! She has taught me that justice is meaningless without freedom. She is honest. She makes no promises and breaks none. Unlike you, Jezebel. I used to wonder why you could never look me in the eye. Now I know. So good bye, dear lady. I would be saddened by our parting even now, save that you are no longer the woman I once loved.

*KABOOM!*
