I was going to write
Jan. 20th, 2007 06:45 pmA critique of the current affairs that have assailed this fair country, what with Halutz resigning, Katzav due for indictment next week, Olmert under investigation and everything else.
But it's all over the news and all the pundits have their own say about what's what and all that shit I really didn't want to get into all that, so I thought I'd share my initial reaction to Halutz's resignation.
"Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy"
Yes, I am petty, I never liked him, I think he's a conceited, apathetic egoist. The only credit I care to give him is that he's taking responsibility for his fuck ups, a little late in the day, but at least he's no longer Chief of Staff.
The big down side to him stepping down.
At least he was the Devil we knew, now whoever the new Chief of Staff is going to be, it'll be an unknown variable, because no matter what they did in their former capacity in the IDF, being CoS is a whole different ball-game.
We'll live and learn... or die, as seems to be the default for this country.
Katzav... it's just too disgusting to discuss and Olmert is almost as disgusting, I can barely even count him as one of the worst PM's to ever head the state, because he's been so under par you could barely count him as a leader of anything, as
hagar_972 so aptly wrote in her post - "[He] doesn't seem to get that he's running a country and not a law firm."
I think the next elections are going to be really hilarious, as far as I can tell there'll be three parties - Likud, Avodah & Kadimah. Most likely Netanyahu will head Likud, Barak will head Avodah and Livni will head Kadimah. The two worst (not including Olmert) PM's to ever serve in the Government and the worst excuse for a political party in the history of Israel.
*sigh*
It seems I managed to write a critique anyway.
