My friends, I am writing this from my spanking new computer, my new laptop paid for by the Israeli Governmant with the money they owed due to my faithful service during that failure we call the Second War on Lebanon.
Her name is Frida and she is a Lenovo 3000 N100.
I am looking forward to working on this beautiful machine, which is light, has all sorts of gadgets which I won't go into now.

Right now I'm working with Windows, but since I'm use Firefox and OpenOffice, I'm thinking of taking the plunge and moving to Linux, which Robbie told me he could teach me to use.

To all you Linux users, what can you tell me (a total illiterate when it comes to software) about it, what do you like about it, what makes it better/worse than any other software, etc.

Thanks you for your thoughts, I'm sure Frida will appreciate it as well :)

Regarding the Linux question, I'd suggest you start slowly, instead of installing Linux as your primary OS, go slow, install it virtually (http://www.linuxjournal.com/article/8046) and when you feel you don't really need the windows OS around you, go for it and install it as a primary (maybe with windows as a virtual side dish just in case).

Congratulations - both for the laptop and for actually getting the money. A laptop changes your life! Now you can go anywhere and do anything, without having to wonder if it was in that notebook or the other one.

Does this mean Mummy and Dadday have complete freedom of the desktop?

And no, we don't have wireless internet yet, so when while late at night it's no problem for me to plug in Frida to the modem during the day when Mummy needs to use the Desktop, I also use the Desktop, because otherwise it's a hassel to change the plugs all the time, but we should be getting wireless very soon :)

I can't wait for everyone to meet her!

Justice: Good evening, V.

Justice: What? V! For shame! You have betrayed me for some harlot, some vain and pouting hussy with painted lips and a knowing smile!

V: I, Madam? I beg to differ! It was your infidelity that drove me to her arms!

V: Ah-ha! That surprised you, didn't it? You thought I didn't know about your little fling. But I do. I know everything! Frankly, I wasn't surprised when I found out. You always did have an eye for a man in uniform.

Justice: Uniform? Why I'm sure I don't know what you're talking about. It was always you, V. You were the only one...

V: Liar! Slut! Whore! Deny that you let him have his way with you, him with his armbands and jackboots!

V: Well? Cat got your tongue? I though as much.

V: Very well. So you stand revealed at last. you are no longer my justice. You are his justice now. You have bedded another.

Justice: Sob! Choke! Wh-who is she, V? What is her name?

V: Her name is Anarchy. And she has taught me more as a mistress than you ever did! She has taught me that justice is meaningless without freedom. She is honest. She makes no promises and breaks none. Unlike you, Jezebel. I used to wonder why you could never look me in the eye. Now I know. So good bye, dear lady. I would be saddened by our parting even now, save that you are no longer the woman I once loved.
