"I made no resolutions..."
Jan. 1st, 2007 12:01 amThe roman calendar is important, because it unifies the world and keeps us all, heh, up to date with each other. But all in all, it doesn't hold the same significance as Rosh Ha'Shana or Pesach which are much more important dates in the year than the change between December and January, which are simply the turning of a page on the calendar, or hanging a new calendar on the wall.
Last year I made resolutions, I don't know if I kept them up and I have no intention of going into my LJ's archive and hunting down what I said, I said it, it's the past.
So now I look to the future, just like every other day, but this day is significant to so many people, it's impossible not to be affected by that belief.
Enough belief can change the world, it has and it will in other ways.
But the this quote by Anais Nin pretty much sums everything up:
"I made no resolutions for the New Year. The habit of making plans, of criticizing, sanctioning and molding my life, is too much of a daily event for me"
