This isn't going to be a long post.
It is however, some venting over some very silly things I've seen in fandom

Spoilers for TW:CoE, specifically Day 4
.

I was very sad when Ianto died.
I'm still a bit devastated.
The character I most identified with met his demise.
One of the best Queer characters to ever appear on television died... a fucking Hero.

A Hero people.

I'm really not happy about seeing people writing reviews that are saying RTD is a crap writer for killing him off. That he is unable to allow happy endings for characters.
Excuse me?
Have you met Jack and Ianto?!

It was doomed because Jack cannot die. Ianto would have died at some point any way, as much as it pains me to write, that is the way it is!
He is not immortal, nor is her the main character (that'd be Gwen).

So please, please, the winning about him being dead. The campaigns to bring him back. No, not gonna fly.
Resurrection is shown to be a bad thing.

More on that and the significance of how Ianto died, that he and Jack died together in an embrace when I continue my actual reviewing.

It's things like this that make me happy I'm more of a lurker than anything else. We don't all watch the same show, clearly the writers do not see the shows the fans do, but the storytelling is never meant to be soft and sweet. It is supposed to tell us about ourselves.

And it's because of that, that his death was not in vain.

Indeed, and the whole point of Jacks character arc is that the immortal man is doomed to eternal unhappiness.

Some folks have apparently been leaving flowers at the tourist office location in Cardiff. And I don't care if it's ridiculous, I do think it's very sweet.

In that sense of course, every relationship is doomed.
Gwen and Rhys is doomed because sooner or later one of them will die (again)

Yes, it was inevitable that Jack would be bereaved, it just did not have to happen in that way or at that time, and that's what so many of us are protesting.

If I lived near there, I'd totally do that.

I'm ridiculous like that.

I think accusing the writers, directors or anyone for the way of narrative is missing the point, but I understand the comfort sought in that kind of protest.

I'm going to continue writing reviews and meta, so maybe my point in this short entry will make more sense.

Thanks for commenting none the less :)

Which in a sense underlines why the Doctors initial impulse of knowing that he should end/destroy Jack was probably bang on the money.

I agree with some of what you said- Jack being a miserable bastard, and Ianto dying anyway, and RTD being a good writer, but I was dissapionted with the way CoE ended. It was rushed because they wanted to finish things quickly, and they really shouldn't have killed Ianto. He was awesome. R.I.P

Call me pathetic if you want, but I'm still pissed off.

I'm pissed off as well, I'm pretty pathetic myself... we're all a bit mad, no? :)
It's just that to me it shows very little respect to the craft and the character that people are reacting in such a way of protests that become ad hominem are just... really, really not okay and as I said, show little respect to the over all story, imo.

I'm re-watching the eps now and am devastated all over again. He was the best.
I'm going to write more about him, his role in the arc and him being a marked man if you're interested.

I disagree about the 4th season. If there will be one, I think it'll be about Gwen. She was the center of the Torchwood series from the start, and I think it will only be fitting that a next season will have her starting a new Cardiff team. The riff needs protecting.

That was me, of course. And intended for the first review. My apologies.

V and Justice

V: Ah, I was forgetting that we are not properly introduced. I do not have a name. You can call me V. Madam Justice...this is V. V... this is Madam Justice. hello, Madam Justice.

Justice: Good evening, V.

V: There. Now we know each other. Actually, I've been a fan of yours for quite some time. Oh, I know what you're thinking...

Justice: The poor boy has a crush on me...an adolescent fatuation.

V: I beg your pardon, Madam. It isn't like that at all. I've long admired you...albeit only from a distance. I used to stare at you from the streets below when I was a child. I'd say to my father, "Who is that lady?" And he'd say "That's Madam Justice." And I'd say "Isn't she pretty."

V: Please don't think it was merely physical. I know you're not that sort of girl. No, I loved you as a person. As an ideal.

Justice: What? V! For shame! You have betrayed me for some harlot, some vain and pouting hussy with painted lips and a knowing smile!

V: I, Madam? I beg to differ! It was your infidelity that drove me to her arms!

V: Ah-ha! That surprised you, didn't it? You thought I didn't know about your little fling. But I do. I know everything! Frankly, I wasn't surprised when I found out. You always did have an eye for a man in uniform.

Justice: Uniform? Why I'm sure I don't know what you're talking about. It was always you, V. You were the only one...

V: Liar! Slut! Whore! Deny that you let him have his way with you, him with his armbands and jackboots!

V: Well? Cat got your tongue? I though as much.

V: Very well. So you stand revealed at last. you are no longer my justice. You are his justice now. You have bedded another.

Justice: Sob! Choke! Wh-who is she, V? What is her name?

V: Her name is Anarchy. And she has taught me more as a mistress than you ever did! She has taught me that justice is meaningless without freedom. She is honest. She makes no promises and breaks none. Unlike you, Jezebel. I used to wonder why you could never look me in the eye. Now I know. So good bye, dear lady. I would be saddened by our parting even now, save that you are no longer the woman I once loved.

*KABOOM!*
