August "Project"

Being that I am currently a woman of leisure (with various odd jobs here and there) I have decided to re-read the Harry Potter Series now that it is actually done.
All the books are easy reads and quite fun and shouldn't take me so long, then maybe I'll be able to concentrate on "Runaways" which I recently got (1-7 which were written by Brian K. Vaughn before being taken over by Joss Whedon).

In any event I'm going to re-read the series and I have a book rec which has nothing to do with comic books, Joss Whedon or anything fandomy.

I've just read the book Female Chauvinist Pigs by Ariel Levy and thought it was a great over view of the way the sex has become even more of a commodity since the Women's Movement and the rise of Feminism sought to liberate women and society as a whole from the exploitation and objectification of the sex industry.
But Feminism and the Sexual Revolution has been, like everything else, been used and twisted in order to cater mass consumerism.
I could go on, but then I'd have to quote the book and it's just much easier to just recommend that you all read it.
No matter who you are.
