Wired magazine put out a six word short story challenge to writers with excellent results.
Here are my favourites:
“Cellar?” “Gate to, uh … hell, actually.”
- Ronald D. Moore
Gown removed carelessly. Head, less so.
- Joss Whedon
I’m dead. I’ve missed you. Kiss … ?
- Neil Gaiman
To save humankind he died again.
- Ben Bova
Cryonics: Disney thawed. Mickey gnawed. Omigawd.
- Eileen Gunn
And one last one:
The Axis in WWII: haiku! Gesundheit.
- Howard Waldrop
And my one least: In the beginning was the word. - Gregory Maguire
I mean really man, that was totally written before!
And of course, my own little attempts:
Crossed the road, the portal closed.
Holding hands, circle formed. Sky fell.
She fell asleep, her blood seeped.
What a fun little exercise.
And one from my Mother:
Murder story: Girl had two lovers
