A quick one before heading to bed

You may find it tedious, or boring, or even just plain irritating that I'm blogging about the same thing over and over again and basically repeating myself.

Obviously this is something that needs processing and information needs to be disseminated.

As I said in my previous post, I did not know the deceased, but I know people who did, because that's how small our world is.

Those kids, one of whom is in critical condition, all of whom are still in hospital as far as I'm aware, will never be the same again.
Nor will any of us, I'm afraid.
Some of those kids do not have a home to go to because they were outed and their parents and family do not want their children to be "that way".
Can they be cured?
As though the way your body, mind and heart reacts to people is some kind of horrible disfigurement of the soul.
If we even have one.

The reason I keep writing about this (and will probably write more about tomorrow) is because I am in the belief that silence is violence.
That the police do not have the beginning of a clue as to the whereabouts of the murderer and that unless he wants to be found, he will not be found.
Call me cynical, but it's been a while since I've trusted the police with anything that actually amounts to securing me and the people I know.

As for "incitement against the religious", I'll let you read the writing on the wall again.

My family simply rocks so hard I cannot even describe it.

Not really, an report (in Hebrew) said that the police went to queer forums online and implied that perhaps that killer was in our midst, if we anyone new began to hang around, etc.

And I was like, WTF Man! New people come all the time to these venues! Yes there are the regular established faces, but fuck, I can be considered a new face because I don't go to events often enough to be counted as a regular.

It's all so fucked up!

So no. The police are utterly clueless. They do know the killer shot the kids with an Uzi.

Can't say as I've often heard of members of a minority committing hate crimes against their own group before. Perhaps if there was somebody who had recently been denied access to the group, that might be motive. But since when do gay youth support groups deny people access?

I would hope the police are questioning all of the families of the kids who might have recently received help and support from that centre. Because that would be my immediate list of suspects.

I've been reading a lot about this in various media, and the thing that really, really bugs me about how this has been reported is this: in so many reports, this has been described as a shooting in a "gay club" or of a "weekly party for gay youth". It's like it's impossible to even acknowledge that this was a support group for queer kids. Not a party, not a club, a support group.

For so many people, it seems impossible to discuss queers, even in this kind of situation, without evoking images of clubs and bars and parties.

My thoughts are with you. It is a terrible shame that they were attacked. What pisses me off is that they closed the gay clubs as if they are the problem. How revolting.
