Over the night 1000+ police men demolished the Beduin village on El-Araqib situated in the Negev, just north of Beer Sheva (the largest Southern town).
The village had 30 houses and they've all been bulldozed.

I've only seen small update reports in the News websites and a few short blog-posts like on The Only Democracy and Mondoweiss.

The reason for this demolition?
The Jewish National Fund deemed the land designated for Jewish use only and are planning on planting a forest there.
No, really.

I can't believe I heard the report about this happening from Facebook.

The whole thing about the Bedouin unrecognised villages, is that they're unrecognised and thus the removal of them has no legal barrier, despite the fact that the Supreme Court of Justice has said that they can stay where they are - not that anyone gives a shit about the Supreme Court's verdicts.

Yep. And there are protections like "Squatters rights" that even if they're not legally supposed to be there, if they've been there long enough and have kept the place up, they can stake a claim to it because the owners have clearly abandoned it.

So it sounds like anyone who wants to could basically say, "That land is mine. Get off." even if someone's been living there for years.

How does the Supreme Court have any power if they're ignored? Who has decided that they're above the law that way?

The Supreme Court is ignored when they're verdicts don't mesh with expansion policy, hence why the Separation Wall is still usurping land despite it being illegal by international law and Supreme Court decision.
