I dunno if this is going to be of any use in your situation, but I found it helped a lot to realise that you don't get 'brownie points' for sheer work but for working at the things that are most relevant/working 'thoughtfully'. I can't explain this all that well but with uni work, there's always the temptation to cover everything in great detail because you did that at school, or because you feel 'cutting corners' would be irresponsible, etc, but I found that once you get into the habit of questioning 'do I really need to do this/spend this much time and effort here' then you find that there is time to do everything without getting into a big stress and you get better results anyway because you're less overwhelmed.
