Yes, THIS is what I write about while taking a break from packing.
In relation to this post
I was thinking the other day about fanfiction, I'm generally both a het and slash reader (I find gen bores me due to lack of *ahem* action, but well written and with a little more "regular" action will catch my attention).
But there are things I generally avoid, just because they're not my cup of tea, but on occasion I've come across certain ships which boggle my mind how they came about.
Call me closed-minded but I find it very, very disturbing that there is a thriving ship of Bruce/Dick (that would be Batman/Nightwing and sometimes Batman/Original!Robin).
It's not the m/m that disturbs, those who know me, know I have slash coloured goggles on and can find slash *anywhere*.
It's the fact that Dick is Bruce's son. Even Bruce/Tim isn't that disturbing, though I have a hard time seeing Bruce actually go at it with a minor seeing as he doesn't particularly care for pedophiles.
But Bruce/Dick just really doesn't work, since you know, Bruce has a hard time showing Dick affection on a good day so a romantic relationship between the two would be perolous to say the least.
Not to mention that Bruce has been Dick's guardian since he was nine, it's one thing to know someone as a child and then meet them many years in the future as an adult, but to raise a child into adulthood with including the whole hero thing and the fact that Bruce is not the most emotionally stable cookie in the batch.
Again, I have nothing against those who ship and enjoy this pairing I'm just saying how I feel about it.
In any event my own view of Bruce is that he isn't a particularly kinky person (mask notwithstanding) and that if kink were to be involved it would probably be of the Bondage and a little bit of punishment (c'mon, he's been in a relationship with a woman who wears a cat-suit and carries a whip!) and we all know kink can go way, waaaaaaaaay beyond bondage and love taps, but I feel that Bruce is a little too uptight to allow himself to be tied up and punished, since he doesn't actually trust anyone.
Though I think him relinquishing control for a certain amount of time would be beneficial to his psyche.
But since when has Bruce actually done something that was beneficial to his state of mind.
Hope this wasn't too boring.
In addition, the genocide in Darfur must be stopped.
