A Morning of Luxury

I had a massage this morning.

It was the first professional massage in my life.

Oh my god, I could do with one everyday if I could get away with it and not feel hedonistic a la the Last Days of Rome. And if I had the cash, of course, but that's another matter entirely.

I went with made by [livejournal.com profile] queenmab21 and made by [livejournal.com profile] morin to a spa treatment this morning (obscenely early!) because we missed [livejournal.com profile] queenmab21's wedding due to us being on holidays with our families on the date of the celebration, so I hope this made up for it a bit.

We had a lovely time in the darkened room and had a very refreshing breakfast.

I love you both so much!

But dude, the massage itself was nothing I'd ever felt before! Now, I know I carry tension in my shoulders and between my shoulder blades, so I asked the masseuse to focus on those areas and boy did she ever!

First of all, she was this small-ish woman and damn, she was powerful. We were all three of us in the room and under sheets, so it was nice a modest, I guess, despite being naked besides our knickers.
So she started with a little stroking and relaxing the body over the sheet and it was very relaxing indeed. Then she got out the essential oils (musky loveliness!) and began massaging my legs, which I told she could do harder.
And harder.
Glorious pressure.

Then she moved to my back and started moving me back and forth. Then she began pressing into me and I could feel how hard my muscles were and she pressed harder and I said press harder, which she did and fucking hell, the pressure changed into PAIN!
Pain that felt freakin' good!
I groaned and she told me to breathe and every time I breathed out she pressed more and I could hear my muscles pop and grind the cartlidge.

Creepy.

There was also a surprise butt massage, as it would appear that I carry a whole lot of tension in my lower back and gluteus, which surprised me, because my ass is large and soft, but *shurg*

It hurt like hell! And felt fantastic.

I'm a sucker for medicinal pain.

I think if we could have had a slightly longer massage, she would have been able to rub out all the tension between my shoulder blades, because I can feel how tense that area is compared to the rest of me, which it quite buttery right now.

Glorious pressure and glorious pain.

I've never felt so luxurious, I swear.

And you will feel like crap tomorrow, but better afterward. (My boyfriend is a massage therapist – I learned this from him early on. Massage feels good the day of, terrible the next day, great afterward.)

I'm glad to hear you had such a good time! (The first massage I ever paid for was good, but the massage therapist was strangely awkward.)

Professional massage is fantastic.

I'm trying to organize it so I can get a massage once a fortnight in December (which is the crazy month in the world of retail) and once a month for the rest of the year, because I need it and should be able to afford it.

Apparently staying hydrated helps with avoiding some of the post-massage ache.

Well, I figure that in the long run it should be cheaper than seeing the osteopath weekly, which is what I am doing now after letting my back stay sore for too long.

Plus I really need to have someone spend an our just on my legs from time to time. Too much ouch.
