I wonder what G-d thinks of those people. If he's the angry, petty, vengeful G-d, he's probably pleased. If he's supposed to be the G-d of all the chosen people, descended from the twelve tribes, who live in the blessed land promised to them from old, I'd guess he's not real happy about the way some of his children treat others.
Kind of wish that a rabbi who understand this would become a favored interpretation, instead of ones that sound like they'd be perfectly in place in out most backward and fundamentalist enclaves.
