My mother is confused... I still suck

In regard to the last post, I had started the scarf, but it got twisted and then I noticed the joining got screwy (using circular needles, though I think I'm gonna have to get a shorter pair *grumbles*), so I ripped it and asked:

"Mummy, do you know how to make a proper joining?"
"Um... let me see... why do you want to join the yarn?"
*hard look* "The scarf is supposed to be knit in the circular"
"What do you mean?"
"What do you mean "what do you mean"?! A row of stitches that connects into a circle" I have begun to laugh hysterically.
"But wouldn't that make a tube?"
"Yes! That's the point!"
"Why would you make a scarf that's a tube?"
"Mummy didn't you read the pattern?"
"For what?"
"The scarf!"

Mummy and I always seem to get into these little Abbot and Costello moments :) It's a bonding and trying experience at times.
Mummy is quite irate about this, because she's confused about the circular knitting I'm "insisting" on using.

In any event I ripped the beginning :(

Who am I supposed to turn to for help in craft if not my mother (who is unfortunately confused)... I still suck.

hang in there. you can ask the people in the knitting store where you bought your supplies. they're usually happy to help. and you can avoid the craziness with your mom

i've never knit in the round before, unfortunately, or i'd try to help...

a) You do not.
b) You calling your mother "mummy" is almost obnoxiously cute.
