Also? Issues of entitlement, appropriation, racism, misogyny, and general shenanigans aside ... I just don't see Kirk and Spock together. It's so contrived. It's weird. Yeah, I see the love between them, but it never leapt out at me as anything romantic or lustful or sexual. I've read Trek fiction and haven't ever read a good or convincing Spock/Kirk pairing. There's probably a reason for that.
